The feeling when the GM asks 'are you sure?'

Hey, trying to see if anyone would like to give this a go sometime.

You can be anyone from any of the Marvel groups, or create your own custom superhero. It would follow the cinematic universe more than the comics, but no set timeline canon. (You might even see Steve Rogers and Johnny Storm in the same place at the same time.) The system is cortex+ (so Ash tells me). It's a simple to follow, dice pool system that can make you feel pretty awesome when you start hurling handfuls of dice in a fight with your nemesis.

No slot yet as I know some people can only do evenings. Let me know if this would be something you are interested in so I can steal a term for it. (I know Ash is very interested.)

I'm not familiar with the system but am a big marvel fan so would probably be interested depending on when it runs!

Sounds fun, I'd like to have a go sometime.
Also slightly tongue in cheek but if any cannon super is up for grabs baggsy Sentry Tongue
(in all honesty though would probably make my own up)

Ok well it looks like enough people are interested to have a game. Not sure what's coming up in the next few seasons as the entry for it on here is blank but we can figure something out.

next season is L5R in the afternoon and 4e in the evening.

season after I've pencilled in my supers game for the evening but I'm not aware of anything planned for the afternoon.  Given that at least two of the people expressing interest are probably evening's only (and in my supers game) I can take game off the roster to give this one a space if people like?

Did I say I'd run 4e next season? Ooops, better correct another post I've just made...

Funnily enough at the weekend Katie and I had a long chat about the Sentry and the way the game represents the void.

Awesome!
Also I'd only be intrested in playing an already extant character if that's what everyone was doing, as making your own is much more rewarding.
If we were being pregen then sentry is where its at though (closely followed by brian braddock AKA captain britain).

I was just going to give people the option about whether they play a pre gen or make their own. It doesn't really bother me.

Sounds good.
Both options would be fun, I just like exploring systems and making up my own things Smiley

Really it depends on what people want to go for.

Also whats the name of the game/system so I can try and have a look at it?

The system wasn't published long (2012 to 2013) so you'll be lucky to find a paper copy. I couldn't possibly comment on slightly less reputable ways of obtaining the PDF.

Reading the core book and I'm shocked sentry has actually been included in it!
Seems a very fun system from what I've been reading so far though.

If you were using the already existing heroes, I'd be sorely tempted by Wolveriene (as he's the closest thing to a berserker in the Marvel universe) Wink .

Finally the rules for character creation seem...
...rather sparse(that's being generous), any one have any experience/ideas on how it can actually be done?

Have found the Annihilators  sourcebook which has some of my other favourites in it too (Silver Surfer, Gladiator and Ronan the Accuser).
Also of note for Paul (as I've not found Thor yet), Beta-Ray Bill is in there too.

It seems like although the game was short-lived (i'm guessing due to license issues), it's actually got most well known Marvel superheros in it.

Is there a solid list of characters anywhere? I've found a few websites listing characters but they seem to be mostly community/fan made stats etc. (and I'll probably shy away from the obvious Thor choice tbh, there are a lot of really interesting characters that I am a lot more familiar with after playing the now-defunct Facebook game that would be more fun to play as, when I played Thor in the other marvel system it got a bit one dimensional, as it was basically "Thor hits stuff", and while that can be fun, I think I'd go for something a bit more characterful)

I'll have a look at what characters I have a sheet for already and list them. Also Clive don't worry too much, there's no reason you can't create one on the day if you can't find good rules. I'll check this as well.

The Sentry was a central part of the first event (he ripped Carnage apart during Breakout) so it would seem weird to not let people play him :-)

The character creation rules are: "Choose where your affiliation dice go, make up three distinctions, make up one or two power sets, choose which specialities you want and at what levels." There's the unwritten rule of "during all this don't be a twat as the other players will mock you endlessly and the narrator will probably ask you to think again." There was a set of random character generation rules floating around but I found it far better to come up with a coherent idea of what you want to play and create that rather than suffer idiot dice getting in the way.

So basically make up whatever you want your character to do and run with it. The system's pretty good in that cosmic level characters like Thor, the Silver Surfer and the Sentry can take part in the same game as street level characters like Daredevil and the Punisher without it feeling forced.

I'm led to believe the following source-books are available somewhere: Civil War, Civil War X-Men, Annihilators, Young Avengers, Civil War 50 states initiative. I'm afraid I couldn't comment on where you can actually find them as they're all OOP.
The Annihilators source-book was a free PDF release only.
